UNC Charlotte Launches New Free Speech Website
The new Free Speech website is a resource for the UNC Charlotte community that contains helfpul information, FAQs, policies, and other materials related to how the University works to create and sustain an environment where freedom of speech and expression are supported and honored. It is intended to assist the University community in understanding and upholding our commitment to a campus culture in which our differences are celebrated thoughtfully and compassionately.
OLA Attorneys Co-author Paper on Emotional Support Animals
Associate Vice Chancellor and Deputy General Counsel Sam Sears and Legal Fellow Kris Caudle have have co-authored a nationally-distributed article entitled "Emotional Support Animals in Higher Education: Challenging Scenarios and Proposed Solutions." Edwards on "Charlotte Talks"
Sarah Edwards, Associate General Counsel, represented UNC Charlotte in a panel discussion about Title IX on WFAE's "Charlotte Talks" on October 10, 2017. The program, titled "Charlotte Talks: What DeVos' Reversal On Campus Sexual Assault Guidance Means For Schools, Students," also featured Sarah Brown, reporter for the Chronicle of Higher Education; Annie Clark, Executive director and co-founder of End Rape on Campus, a rape-survivor advocacy group; and John Gresham, Attorney, Tin Fulton Walker & Owen, PLLC, who has represented a number of male students who have been accused of sexual misconduct.
