This revision narrows the scope of the requirement to control of all equipment between $1,000 and $5,000 to only electronic devices (computers, laptops, tablets, projectors, and recording equipment (digital and video cameras)). The revision also encourages departments to control all other “pilferable assets,” which the revised Policy defines as “property of greater than nominal value that can be easily removed from its location and converted into cash or personal use, making it highly susceptible to loss or theft.”
