On May 23, 2024, the UNC System Board of Governors repealed and replaced Section 300.8.5 of the UNC Policy Manual to reaffirm the System's commitment to nondiscrimination, equality of opportunity, institutional neutrality, academic freedom and student success.
UNC Charlotte and all other UNC System campuses must submit reports for complying with the policy by Sept. 1.
The University's efforts will align with guidance recently provided by the System, and more information can be found in this memo from Jesh Humphrey, vice chancellor for institutional integrity and general counsel, and Sarah Edwards, associate vice chancellor and deputy general counsel.
Additional information about the policy and its requirements are found in this Q&A.
Questions about the new policy should be addressed to the Office of Legal Affairs by email to legal-affairs@charlotte.edu, through the Contact Us page, or by phone at 704-687-5732.
