University Policy 805, University Policy Development, Approval, and Publication

This new University Policy 805 establishes clear guidance on how official University Policies should be drafted, reviewed, revised, and approved. The supplemental procedures provide more explicit steps for implementing the new policy.



University Policy 101.5 , Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Plan

Status: Revised

University Policy 101.5, Equal Employment Opportunity, has been revised to be consistent with other related University Policies, including University Policy 501, Nondiscrimination and Procedures for Addressing Reports of Discrimination. 



University Policy 601.18 , Debt Policy

Status: Newly Approved

The purpose of the new University Policy 601.18, Debt Policy, is to outline the University’s philosophy on debt resources and establish a framework for approving, managing, and reporting debt.  



University Policy 701, Emergency Management

Status: Revised

University Policy 701 has been rewritten and renamed, "Campus Operation Status, Including Adverse Weather and Emergency Events," to be consistent with recently revised North Carolina Office of State Human Resources Commission policy.



University Policy 101.23 , Employment-Related Background Checks and Criminal Activity Reporting

Based on feedback received from the university community during the implementation of the policy, and in an effort to create a consistent and comprehensive background check process that promotes a safe campus environment, University Policy 101.23 has been revised to require criminal background checks for all non-faculty employees, including those without Sensitive Duties, at least once every five (5) years.  The revision brings UNC Charlotte in line with best practices in this area, including recommendations contained in the Freeh Report on Pennsylvania State University.



University Policy 102.13 , Tenure Policies, Regulations, and Procedures of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte

These revisions to University Policy 102.13, Tenure Policies, Regulations, and Procedures, incorporate recommendations made by an ad hoc faculty committee created by the Provost to create clarity and consistency in the Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure process and documents. Those recommendations include adding the definition of “dossier” and clarifying what is contained in the “review file." In addition, revisions to University Policy 102.13 incorporate a recommendation made by the Chancellor and Provost removing the Chancellor from the review process to reflect the current practice of the Provost making final reappointment, promotion, and tenure decisions, with appeals of those decisions going to the Chancellor.



University Policy 407, Code of Student Academic Integrity

University Policy 407, Code of Student Academic Integrity, has been revised to change the authority to appoint the Chair of the Academic Integrity Board from the Chancellor to the Provost.
